Sun Protection is a serious business. Consumers must put faith in a company and its products to properly protect their skin from sun and its potential damage. Conventional sunscreen can often have chemicals and ingredients that individuals want to avoid. Additionally, they may be tested on animals. Therefore, it is important to be well educated in cruelty-free sun protection options.

Goddess Garden is a Leaping Bunny certified brand that specializes in organic, cruelty-free sunscreen. With a wide variety of products, consumers can find facial mineral sunscreen, everyday mineral sunscreen, sunscreen lip balm, and after sun skincare.

The Facial Natural Suncreen is certified organic and contains antioxidants such as aloe vera, shea butter, and essential oils. It is lightly scented with lavender and applies easily to the skin without leaving behind a white film. It does a wonderful job at protecting the face from the sun and is an spf 30. This sunscreen is non-nano, reef safe, non-GMO, biodegradable, vegan, alcohol free, paraben and phthalate free, and gluten-free. It is water resistant for up to 40 minutes. However, it is important to reapply every few hours.

The Everyday Continuous Spray Natural Sunscreen comes in a spray bottle which disperses the product very well. This formula can leave a white film if it is not quickly rubbed into the skin. It does not have a scent and is also spf 30. Ingredients include aloe vera, sunflower oil, and shea butter. It is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. However, it is very important that you reapply every couple of hours if you are sweating a lot and/or exposed to the sun for long periods of time. It is non-nano, reef safe, non-GMO, biodegradable, vegan, alcohol free, paraben and phthalate free, and gluten-free.

If you are wondering What is non-nano? Read more about it here.

Live Clean, a brand of Hain Celestial, was founded in 2006. The goal of this brand was to create a collection of eco-friendly, natural, and plant derived beauty and personal care products. With an array of skincare, body wash, hand soap, haircare, and baby products, Live Clean makes cruelty-free, ecologically responsible, and affordable personal care accessible.

One of the first attributes you notice when using Live Clean's products is how amazing they smell. The coconut milk moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are no exception. These products have a fresh, seductive aroma that creates a spa-like experience. The coconut oil in the coconut milk both moisturizes and protects dry hair and helps to prevent breakage by sealing in the moisture. Both the shampoo and conditioner are enriched with Vitamins C, E, B5, and rice protein. Additionally, they are, of course, eco-friendly, plant based, and cruelty-free. The shampoo and conditioner are currently available on Amazon for $5.69 each, which is incredibly affordable.

You can shop Live Clean products based on location. If you are located in the US, please visit this website. If you are located in Canada, please visit this website. You can also find them on Amazon.

The story of Grateful Body is an inspiring one. It begins with the tragic loss of the founder and principle formulator, Shannon Schroter's, two sisters from cancer while in their 20's. This event triggered years of intense study of Traditional Chinese, Ayurvedic, Tibetan, and western herbal medicine in order to understand the essentials of healing. Over time, Shannon created his first apothecary and healing recipes in 1984. In 1998, Grateful Body was created in order to provide vital formulas that could genuinely support the skin and body. All of Grateful Body's products are vegan and gluten-free, plant-based and derived from biologically-active soil, are nourishing and support the skin, and create a synergy that help skin manage varied environmental and chronological pressures. Products include cleansers, toners, facial serums, moisturizers, and body oil.

One of the many wonderful things about Grateful Body is the product line has a variety of lines for specific skin types including One Love for aging skin, Gentle for sensitive skin, Clear for blemish prone skin, and Venus for skin with hormone-related issues.

The Gentle Moisturizer is light-weight, gentle, and very moisturizing. Although it is unscented, the various botanical ingredients shine through to provide a light herbal fragrance. The ingredient list is packed with super natural, high quality, nourishing ingredients. Although all of its ingredients are noteworthy, included in the formulation are St. John's wort, yarrow, figwort, chamomile, aloe leaf juice, sunflower oil, sesame oil, black cumin seed oil, and red raspberry seed oil. An important characteristic to note of Grateful Body is that their products are not the typical natural skincare and instead contain very specific, healing botanicals. They are definitely a company worth checking out if you are interested in healing skincare formulated with great attention to detail and knowledge of botanicals.

Today's blogpost has been written and reviewed by our male co-worker.

I have used the Boyzz Only ‘No Nonsense’ shampoo and conditioner for the past week. Overall, I am pleased with the results – my hair seems not only clean, but smooth and manageable. With many hair care products that I have used, my scalp tends to get a bit itchy – this has not been the case with these Boyzz Only products. The shampoo has a consistency similar to shaving cream (so, more like conditioner); however, it lathers and rinses very well. I think I also detected a very slight tingling, which is nice. The conditioner has a very slight texture to it, which is fine. Like the shampoo, it also rinses out very easily. Both the shampoo and conditioner are fragrance free – any scent is negligible and barely discernible. The products are free of all the usual garbage ingredients, as well as being vegan and gluten-free. I’m not familiar with EWG Certification, but it seems interesting and valuable: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/707458/Boyzz_Only_No_Nonsense_Shampoo/

Pixllady Cosmetics is a Leaping Bunny certified company that creates handmade products using cold-pressed organic oils and unrefined butters. Additionally, none of its products include animal ingredients, palm oil, silicone, artificial fragranced, dyes, or talc. Pixllady's line includes cream eyeliner, custom foundation, finishing powder, lash + brow enhancing serum, lipgloss, and a wide variety of lipstick.

Pixllady's lipstick is made with less than 10 ingredients. The first ingredient is organic sweet almond oil, which provides a super hydrating and conditioning base. The second ingredient, coconut oil, creates a barrier to lock in moisture, keeps lips soft, and protects against the elements. The color Florence (pictured above) is a medium coverage purple pink with a lovely sheen. Since it is not matte, the color and coverage is very forgiving, and get simply be reapplied throughout the day. Since the color is light and similar to a natural lip shade, it is perfect for a natural makeup day, as well as if you need to rehydrate your lips during the day.
