Dermalogica Regains Leaping Bunny Certification

November 26, 2013
The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program is pleased to announce that it has recertified Dermalogica as cruelty-free after taking steps to remove its products from China, a country that requires animal testing, and ensure that its distributors follow the company’s cruelty-free commitment.

“We are very happy that Dermalogica has remained steadfast in its commitment to regain certification with Leaping Bunny and feel confident that the company’s resolve against animal testing has only been strengthened through the process,” said CCIC Chair Sue Leary.

After receiving word that Dermalogica was selling its products in China last year, CCIC took action to remove the company from its cruelty-free list. While Dermalogica informed CCIC of its intentions to extract its products from the Chinese market right away, CCIC needed to be sure that appropriate systems were in place to safeguard against a similar mistake. The company stated that it has no intention of selling products in China until it can do so without the need for animal test data.

The Leaping Bunny Program offers the most up-to-date list of companies that have committed to no new animal testing throughout their manufacturing process, from ingredients to finished products. The Leaping Bunny Logo is consistently ranked by third parties as the cruelty-free logo that can be trusted the most.
