Cruelty-Free Sun Protection

Ah, the summers of my youth, when I used to slather on some baby oil and head out into the sun for hours upon hours of swimming and tennis playing. Times have changed and nowadays, I wouldn't even think about spending more than a few minutes outside unprotected. Here are some foolproof, Leaping Bunny certified products to keep your skin happy as we ease into the summer months.

Company Spotlight: Auromère

This month we are interviewing Leaping Bunny certified Auromère. This company is known for its carefully crafted Auyervedic products, made to bring the ancient spiritual and traditional healing wisdom of India within reach of our modern, fast-paced lives. Read below to learn more about the formulation of their products, the importance of giving back to charity, and much more. Also, be sure to check out our review of their foam-free toothpaste on our blog.

  1. What was the inspiration behind the creation of Auromère?
Auromère was founded in 1979 as a means to support a small spiritual community in California. The ancient wisdom of India has always been a source of inspiration for both.
  2. Which products are customer favorites?
Ever since Auromère's toothpaste came onto the market about 25 years ago, it quickly became a customer favorite, and continues to be one of the most well loved products.
  3. Are all of your products vegan?
Out of the 44 Auromère products on the market, 42 are 100% vegan. The two exceptions are the Neem Balm and the Kasturi incense, which contain beeswax and honey, respectively. No bees are harmed in the process (yes, we asked).
  4. What do you think makes Auromère and its products different from other companies?
One primary distinction is that Auromère's products are created using the principles of Ayurveda, the ancient holistic science of India, which promotes harmony, health, and rejuvenation through the use of natural herbs, roots, and minerals.

  1. Can you provide some insight into the innovative, yet all-natural ingredients you use in your products?
All of our products contain carefully selected ingredients known in Ayurveda for their specific beneficial properties. Neem, one of the most well-known plants in Ayurvedic treatments, can be found in almost all of the Auromère products due to its extensive and well-rounded list of known benefits for hair, skin, and dental care.
  2. Why is being Leaping Bunny certified important to you?
The Leaping Bunny Logo is a great way to let our customers know that we are a cruelty-free company. The efforts made by the Leaping Bunny campaign to raise consumer awareness in this respect are much appreciated, and we are glad to cooperate.
  3. What is something unique about Auromère that others may not know?
One thing many people do not know is that Auromère is owned by a non-profit integral yoga community. All of the profits go towards supporting this community, along with Auroville, a universal township in South India, and also a rural school for integral education in Ichhapur.
